Role Overview

Brightstar Care of Chicago is seeking a part-time HR Generalist to support the people operations in our growing home care organization. This role will focus on employee lifecycle support, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations for a workforce that includes caregivers, nurses, and office staff.  The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable working in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel file management
  • Assist with compliance-related HR processes (I-9s, licensure tracking, trainings, policy acknowledgments)
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures
  • Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure accurate employee records
  • Support performance documentation, corrective actions, and employee relations matters
  • Assist with maintaining HR policies and employee handbook updates
  • Help track required trainings, certifications, and annual acknowledgments
  • Support leadership with ad hoc HR projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR experience (healthcare or home care strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience supporting hourly, field-based workforces a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Comfortable working independently in a part-time role
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus but not required
