SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources or their designees. May take direction from the Associate Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Student workers as appropriate.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Director of Human Resources in performing a variety of tasks that are highly confidential and require specialized knowledge. This position supports the Bethlehem and Lancaster campuses. The incumbent must be depended on for accuracy and thoroughness, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of administrative assistant experience required. Two years of human resources experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree is preferred, however, commensurate experiences in lieu of degree will be considered. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
The position demands excellent organizational skills as well as superior interpersonal skills (verbal and written), and an ability and desire to work closely with all constituencies of the University and School of Theology including students, staff, and faculty, in addition to the general public. Requires a team player who can multitask and work under firm deadlines while maintaining strict confidentiality. Computer literacy and experience with G-Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly database applications, HRIS, word processing, and spreadsheets, are essential. Oracle HCM and web design knowledge is helpful. Must have the ability to demonstrate fairness, diplomacy, and discretion with all employees. Must possess a customer-first attitude. Prior experience in higher education is a plus. At times may require working outside of traditional working hours.
