Payroll & HR Specialist
We’re helping an established company find a full time, direct hire Payroll & HR Coordinator to join their team for the long term in downtown Chicago. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with 2+ years of payroll and/or HR experience who enjoys managing payroll from start to finish and ensuring accuracy and compliance in a multistate environment.
Process biweekly multistate payroll from start to finish, including timesheet review, wage calculations, and final submission.
Calculate wages, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with FLSA and state wage laws.
Manage benefit deductions and payroll tax withholdings.
File payroll taxes and support quarterly and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.).
Maintain accurate records and respond to employee payroll and benefit inquiries.
2+ years of payroll and/or HR experience.
Experience processing hands-on payroll (not just approvals).
Knowledge of multistate payroll, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax regulations preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
$70,000–$80,000 base salary
