Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, NY, this position will support the People Operations Director in managing the People Operations function for the Devereux New York center. They will plan, organize, and help facilitate the new employee orientation program. This position will also insure that Center trainers and ongoing training programs maintain the highest level of quality, safety, and effectiveness, including maintaining knowledge of the most current learning practices and utilizing internal and external networks of training professionals to stay abreast of new ideas and approaches. They will insure full compliance with all Devereux and regulatory requirements related to orientation and training, including developing and maintaining systems of scheduling, documentation, and record keeping. They will work with supervisors and other trainers to conduct post-classroom skill checks to assess competency and to insure that skills taught are being used.
Salary: $68,588.52 annually

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Organizational Development, Training & Development or a Human Services field required. Masters degree in Training and Development preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least three years progressively, responsible related experience. Experience in staff training, orientation, and development preferred. Experience with effective learning management systems including documentation and record keeping, tracking, compliance , and strategies to promote learning in the workplace prefered. Prior experience in the behavioral healthcare field optimal.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, presentation skills, customer service skills, and multi-tasking skills. Must possess good judgment and be able to make effective decisions independently. Must be able to establish a learning environment that is safe, supportive, and ethical. Able to work collaboratively to meet the needs of licensors, administrators, program supervisors and staff. High energy level and positive outlook are essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant and frequent amounts of walking, standing, kneeling, bending, stooping and reaching above shoulder level. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. Normal hearing and vision. Moderate to significant travel; irregular hours. Frequent use of office equipment requiring repetitive wrist/hand movement. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances.
