HR Professional
The HR Generalist serves as the initial point of contact for employees regarding employment-related needs on policies, procedures, programs, and systems. This role requires a trustworthy, reliable, and self-initiating professional who can work collaboratively, read and interpret documents, and solve problems with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate is naturally helpful, punctual, and responsive, and competent with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and corrective feedback to enhance their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new applicants for specific job openings
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to staff and management; act as the go-to person for all employee HR needs
  • Prioritize effectively to manage multiple demands and deadlines; demonstrate reliability and punctuality
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead team-building and planned activities to support a positive culture
  • Streamline HR processes and systems; propose improvements to increase efficiency; exercise resourcefulness and problem-solving to implement changes
  • Process transactions for new hires, job changes, compensation updates, benefits administration, and departures with accuracy and timeliness; interpret and apply benefits documentation; manage benefit-related inquiries and escalations
  • Maintain online employee records and conduct audits to ensure federal and state compliance
  • Generate and distribute benefit and payroll reports; take timely action as needed; ensure information accuracy for management decisions
  • Support the development and implementation of local strategic HR initiatives aligned with business goals
  • Participate in talent recruitment and employee termination processes; ensure documentation is complete and compliant
  • Prepare and finalize necessary documentation related to hiring and termination; ensure clear interpretation of policy documents
  • Support, coach, and counsel frontline leadership on day-to-day management of team members, including performance and conduct issues; offer guidance with discretion and integrity
  • Support and coach team members with performance and conduct concerns; provide timely feedback and accept corrective feedback gracefully to improve outcomes
  • Develop and manage a positive, engaging work environment and culture; contribute to ongoing improvements with minimal supervision
  • Benefits Management: oversee benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries; coordinate open enrollment activities; interpret benefits documentation; ensure accurate tracking of benefit elections
  • Time Off and FMLA Administration: track and manage time off requests, leave balances, and FMLA eligibility; ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; coordinate with managers and employees to minimize disruption
  • Mailings and Communications: manage HR-related mailings, notices, and communications to staff; distribute to the specific department in question; ensure timely delivery and comprehension
  • Office Supplies and Purchases: coordinate HR-related procurement, maintain inventory, process purchase orders, and track expenditures
  • Travel Coordination and Reimbursements: arrange HR-related travel logistics and process attendant reimbursements in a timely and compliant manner

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of HR-generalist or related experience; experience in healthcare/behavioral health and multi-site environments is a plus.
  • Experience with ADP payroll software (ADP Workforce Now or similar) and basic benefits administration
  • General Knowledge of HR laws and compliance (federal, state, and local)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proactive, service-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems

Preferred:
SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification


Compensation:
Salary: $80,000 Annually
