CPS HR Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Human Resources professional to support public-sector clients across Colorado. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your HR expertise through flexible, project-based work that strengthens organizations and communities.

As a Project Consultant with CPS HR Consulting, you will partner with public sector clients to deliver expert HR services across a range of functional areas, including:

• HR Leadership & Strategy
• Advertising, Outreach, and Sourcing
• Recruitment and Selection
• Audit and Compliance
• Job Classification and Compensation
• Employee and Labor Relations
• Performance Management
• Workplace Investigations
• Employee Training and Organizational Development
• Organization Strategy and Assessment
• Benefits and Leave Administration
• Policy Development / HR Compliance / Handbook Development

Travel Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional certification(s) such as IPMA-CP, IPMA-CS, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CCP.
• Minimum of five years of professional HR experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of Human Resources principles, practices, and regulations.
• Advanced administrative and technical skills in one or more HR functional areas listed above (e.g., recruitment, classification and compensation, investigations, employee relations).
• Familiarity with organizational structures and HR operations in government or public-sector environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse clients, teams, and stakeholders.

• Excels at building trust and delivering exceptional customer service by responding promptly and thoughtfully to client needs.
• Consistently demonstrates professionalism, maintaining a polished and ethical presence in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Applies strong business acumen to align HR practices with organizational and client goals.
• Anticipates client needs and takes initiative with a proactive approach to providing effective support.
• Brings creativity and innovation to the role, offering fresh ideas and adaptable methods to enhance client services and HR practices.
