Description

Job Purpose: 

Support the Human Resources department with any projects pertaining to the role.


Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Answers phones, responds to personnel questions, and requests.

2. Assists in conducting offer meetings with new-hires to complete necessary paperwork, including scheduling pre-employment drug/alcohol screens and respirator fit tests. Run MVR and reviews for compliance. Keeps the management team updated on hiring progress.

3. Assists in scheduling new-hire orientation as needed.

4. Keeps 90-day evaluation tracking spreadsheet updated. Sends status updates to Operation Managers monthly of those still not completed.

5. Administers quarterly random drug/alcohol testing and documents the process to meet compliance.

6. Assigns company-issued items for work use (cell phones, credit cards, tool kits, etc.).

7. Prepares termination reports for departing employees and processes each according to procedure.

8. Oversees uniform program, initiating repairs, exchanges, and sizing/ordering uniforms for new employees. 

9. Assists in preparing personnel correspondence.

10. Performs annual DOT audit by obtaining required documents each year, including updated MVR report/review of driving record and violations. Review concerns with necessary drivers, as appropriate.

11. Ensures the accuracy of I-9 forms by obtaining required supporting documentation and performs Form I-9 audits and the maintenance/retention of those files.

12. Initiates and monitors drug screening orders.

13. Maintains an organized and clean working environment.

14. Maintains confidentiality

. Other duties as assigned.




You would be an important member of our HR team. You will need to be a professional who is able to operate with a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products needed. Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail is also needed.   High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree plus minimum of 2 years of HR experience preferred or combination of skills and experience.

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate’s degree and 2+ years of experience in Human Resources or a general office setting are preferred.

2. Must be fluent in English/Spanish.

3. Must possess a positive attitude towards work with the ability to demonstrate a good leadership role model to others and excellent people skills.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to customers, coworkers, and management, with the ability to provide public speaking and customer presentations as needed.

5. Ability to read and interpret documents and job instructions with basic problem-solving skills.

6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions and percentages.

7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

8. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

9. Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced work environment.

10. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

11. Ability to operate a computer and computer software, including Microsoft Office products.
