As a Retail HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in our people organization focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. You will align human resources priorities while supporting a regional retail business unit, strategize by driving comprehensive and fully integrated, sustainable human resources programs while supporting a high performing team that supports Staples retail mission, vision, and core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Be an HR Strategist:
- Champion and drive key HR programs with an aptitude for analytics and problem solving including the ability to diagnose root causes.
- Impact the business strategy as a coaching resource for managers to effectively manage their teams.
- Partner with Talent Management team to identify, communicate and deliver training solutions to address associate skill, knowledge, and leadership gaps.
- Provide thought leadership and project support for various talent management initiatives and projects as needed.
Lead in HR Program Management and develop strong HR partnerships:
- Facilitate annual HR programs like performance management, internal development and succession planning.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on process, offers, and strategy.
- Partner with Compensation on offers, promotional offers, job evaluations and market competitiveness.
- Understand Associate Relations issues and provide counsel to the business. Partner with the Associate Relations team to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner.
Develop strong business relationships as a strategic and trusted HR Advisor:
- Proactively advise managers on emerging workplace trends and recommend associate engagement strategies.
- Understand associate needs using focus groups, exit interviews etc. to help promote satisfaction and ensure strategies are in place to foster an inclusive culture and maintain a union free environment.
- Advise and consult with managers on people issues and performance improvement by helping to identify root cause and developing solutions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum 4 years of experience as a HR Business Partner
- Experience working in large corporate, multi-unit organization with a matrix structure
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including organizational development, employee relations, compensation practices, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally with the executive management team and HR COE’s
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, exhibit flexibility, agility, and adaptability.
- Proven track record of building effective business partnerships in a consultative model with a foundation for coaching and facilitation skills.
