Serve as SME in FMLA, ADA, Disability & NLRA: Providing expert consultation on leave management, accommodations, workplace disability compliance, and labor relations—ensuring leaders understand the terminology, obligations, and processes for each.
Employee & Labor Relations Advisory: Guiding and coaching managers on performance management, workplace conflict, employee complaints, and contract interpretation in unionized environments.
Investigations & Case Management: Leading timely investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employee concerns, ensuring compliance with legal and policy standards.
ADA Interactive Process Leadership: Acting as the primary lead for ADA and disability accommodations, ensuring fairness, compliance, and consistency.
Policy Development & Compliance Oversight: Collaborating with HR leadership to update, implement, and communicate workplace policies aligned with FMLA, ADA, NLRA, EEO, USERRA, and Workers’ Comp.
Training & Education: Facilitating workshops for leaders and employees on FMLA, ADA, NLRA, and labor/employee relations best practices.
Trend Analysis & Solutions: Monitoring ER/LR trends, assess exit data, and provide actionable recommendations to reduce risk and improve workplace culture.
Case Documentation: Managing and tracking employee and labor relations cases using ServiceNow or similar HR systems.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, or related field (required).
5–7 years of progressive experience in employee and labor relations, including in unionized environments.
In-depth expertise in FMLA, ADA, disability compliance, and NLRA, with the ability to interpret, explain, and apply legal requirements effectively.
Proven experience resolving complex workplace matters with fairness, consistency, and compliance.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to design and deliver impactful training programs on ER/LR topics.
Certifications such as PHR or SPHR are highly desirable.
