Job Description:
This role will handle daily HR functions across the department.
Examples of Duties:
- Responds to unemployment claims in a timely manner with complete and accurate information.
- Process employee separations, following up with departments to ensure all proper paperwork is received and administering the City’s exit survey to separating employees.
- Assist with the creation, implementation, and management of HR programs and policies.
- Provide support to other HR teams on a project basis, assisting the Benefits, Recruitment, Employee Relations and Wellness teams as needed.
- Assist with help cases within HRIS.
- Create a variety of regular and ad-hoc reports with HRIS data using systems such as IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft Excel and the current HRIS.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of job descriptions by developing, editing, and evaluating job descriptions for higher review.
- Assist with market analysis by gathering market data, conducting individual market surveys, analyzing data, and advising on results.
- Evaluate jobs and perform various studies to ensure internal and external equity, as well as compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and other federal, state and local regulations, documenting findings and providing recommendations for review.
- Reviews internal and external data to make decisions regarding employee compensation.
- Assists in administering the performance management system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Psychology or a related field and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Human Resources fields such as job classification and compensation, recruitment, and/or benefits.
- Experience with statistical, analytical or business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of accepted methods and practices of position classification, performance management, recruitment and staffing, organizational development, and/or employee development and training.
