Position Summary
The Senior HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing various aspects of the human resources function across multiple regions, including the US, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands. This position requires an experienced professional who can handle high-level HR duties. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR practices, laws, and regulations, and demonstrate excellence in managing performance and talent management, compliance, employee relations, employee administration, leave administration, and policy administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: Consult with employees and counsel management on all types of employee relations matters. Address and resolve workplace conflicts and issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Career Development: Design and implement career development programs and initiatives that support employee growth and progression. Provide coaching and guidance to employees and assist management with respect to career paths and professional development.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits and maintain accurate records to support compliance efforts.
- Leave Administration: Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, and other leave policies. Maintain accurate leave records and ensure timely communication with employees regarding their leave status.
- Employee & HRIS Administration: Oversee the administration of employee data and HRIS systems. Ensure data integrity and accuracy, and provide reports and analysis to support HR initiatives.
- Compensation: Develop and administer competitive compensation programs that align with the company's objectives and industry standards. Conduct market analyses and provide recommendations for salary adjustments.
- Performance Management: Manage performance management systems and processes to evaluate and enhance employee performance.
- Policy Administration: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures. Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization and provide training to employees as needed.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in projects and conduct research that support HR initiatives.
- Collaborate with other areas of Human Resources to ensure the achievement of departmental objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of directly related Human Resource experience.
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of HR best practices, employment laws, and ability to develop and implement HR programs and initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to handle sensitive information and difficult conversations with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, attention to detail, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification a plus.
