As our Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the employee experience at our New Lisbon facilities. From recruitment and benefits to compliance and culture-building, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence every corner of our HR operations. While this is a manager-level position, it also includes hands-on support of HR Generalist duties—perfect for someone who thrives in both strategic and tactical spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for non-exempt and production roles
- Administer health and welfare benefits; manage annual updates and employee inquiries
- Oversee workers’ compensation program and incident investigations
- Support safety programs and OSHA compliance
- Investigate workplace incidents and employee complaints
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and attendance issues
- Support internal learning and development initiatives
- Facilitate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Represent Leer at unemployment hearings
- Administer FMLA and other leave programs
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll; resolve payroll concerns
- Conduct compensation surveys and maintain job descriptions
- Coordinate performance management with supervisors
- Supervise facilities support staff
- Prepare and submit monthly HR reports
- Lead or support HR-related special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing recruitment, benefits, employee relations, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); HRIS experience required, Workday preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and support leadership at all levels.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety-related protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- HR Certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
- Prior Senior-level HR Generalist and supervisory experience.
- Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried staff.
- Strong recruitment experience.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, walk, and use hands to operate a computer or handle documents.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments with moving parts or airborne particles.
- Must be able to focus visually and adjust to changes in work environment noise levels.
Travel Requirements
This position requires occasional travel (10–20%) to other local plant locations and corporate meetings.
