Pay Type: Full-Time, Salary
Compensation: The salary for this position is between $75,000 and $78,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
 
Position Summary: The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a key member of the HR team and provides broad-based support across core HR functions with an emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and operational execution. This role acts as a trusted advisor to managers and staff and helps to ensure consistent and people-centered employee experience. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will also provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration and will collaborate on recruiting and onboarding efforts. With a strong generalist foundation and excellent interpersonal skills, this position helps drive HR initiatives while supporting a culture of professionalism, equity, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring consistent and equitable application and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Ensure accessibility and understanding of all HR programs across the organization.
  • Assist with the administration of core HR programs including performance management, professional development, compensation reviews, open enrollment, and employee recognition.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify training and development needs for employees and staff. Coordinate learning opportunities and/or deliver learning and workforce development programs.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, employee coaching, investigations, and other workplace concerns.
  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing and benefits administration; act as the primary backup for the Payroll & Benefits Administrator during absences or peak periods.
  • Maintain and update HRIS and personnel records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of employee data.
  • Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to identify trends, support decision-making, and make recommendations to leadership for strategic improvements.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to assist in full-cycle recruitment, to include creating job descriptions and postings, conducting candidate phone screens, interviews, and onboarding to deliver a seamless candidate and new hire experience.
  • Assist with the administration of benefits programs including eligibility, enrollment, claims resolution, and employee communications.
  • Support organizational development and change management efforts by aligning HR practices with business strategies and objectives.
  • Conduct regular employee stay interviews, exit interviews, track turnover trends, and provide actionable insights to improve employee retention, job satisfaction, and workforce engagement.
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support employee engagement, cultural development, and operational excellence.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement, wellness, and internal committee leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Education and / or Qualifications preferred:
  • Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field, or a combination of equivalent education, training, and/or work experience. 
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, Sr. HR Generalist, or similar role, with broad exposure to employee relations, compliance, and HR operations.  
  • Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: 
    • PHR or SHRM-CP is highly desired.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll/HRIS systems (Paycor, preferred).
    • Ability to communicate, influence, and build trust effectively across all levels of the organization with integrity and confidentiality.
    • Must be able to remain organized and manage challenging and complex situations.

Working Conditions: Basic mobility is expected in offices, grounds, and exhibition areas. Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information accurately with others. Engage in occasional object manipulation with or without assistance and efficiently navigate the workspace to access essential resources. Ability to regularly move up to 20 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move 100+ pounds (i.e., load, unload, and move supplies, medium to heavy weight tools, and equipment). Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. This job operates in a professional indoor office environment, across grounds, and exhibition areas. Occasionally, may be required to work outdoors under inclement weather conditions.
