We are seeking a hands-on, resourceful, and forward-thinking Senior Human Resources Generalist to support our US division. Reporting to the CHRO based in Canada, this role will serve as the primary HR partner for the US business and play an important role in shaping the employee experience during a key stage of growth and integration.


As the dedicated HR lead for the US team, this role will balance day-to-day employee and manager support with the ongoing development of core HR programs, processes, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

HR Partnership and Employee Support

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across the US division
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support on employee relations, performance matters, workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and employee inquiries
  • Partner with leaders to support a high-performance, accountable, and values-driven culture
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and employment changes
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for the US division, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, candidate management, offer coordination, and support for onboarding transitions.
  • Coach and support managers in handling employee matters thoughtfully, consistently, and in alignment with company values
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality


HR Operations and Compliance

  • Oversee core HR operations for the US division, including benefits administration, leave coordination, and policy administration
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Monitor and improve HR processes to build a more efficient and scalable, HR function
  • Partner with the CHRO and external advisors or vendors, as needed, on employment-related matters


Organizational Integration and Change

  • Support the continued integration of the acquired business into the broader organization
  • Help align US HR practices, policies, and programs with enterprise standards while respecting local business realities and legal requirements
  • Act as a trusted partner to employees and leaders through change, helping to build trust, clarity, and consistency


Program Development and Process Improvement

  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of core people programs and HR processes
  • Support the evolution of performance management, compensation, policy, and systems practices within the US division
  • Help strengthen HR infrastructure to support growth, consistency, and a strong employee experience


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a generalist, senior generalist, or standalone HR role
  • Strong experience supporting US employees across a broad range of HR functions
  • Solid knowledge of US employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience implementing or improving HR programs, processes, or systems (BambooHR preferred)
  • Experience in a high-growth, entrepreneurial, technology-enabled, or post-acquisition environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or an MGA environment is an asset
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is an asset
