Overview

The Senior HR Generalist role is intended to offer strategic support to the our facilities and implement HR initiatives that enhance the employee experience thus improving talent retention.

They will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources, employment law, as well as general coaching abilities. They will work autonomously and efficiently to ensure proactively engaging with managers to address employee concerns. They are expected to be adaptable, highly organized, possess a high level of emotional intelligence and an eagerness to extend HR guidance in alignment with company/business goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner closely with the Operations Director and Sr. Human Resources Manager in order to be the main liaison for all HR projects /initiatives implemented at the facility.
  • Provide focused support to leadership under the guidance of the Sr. HRM on various HR areas, including performance tracking and career development, succession planning, employee relations, retention and conflict resolution.
  • Coach and guide Managers through the application of clear and consistent performance standards.
  • Support the Sr. HRM on strategic HR projects such as policy review and updates, job profile definition.
  • Work with the UKG implementation team on change management and training of employees for better adoption of revised processes.
  • Utilize knowledge of HR legal issues to best support the business and ensure compliance with employment laws, with the support of the Sr. HRM.
  • Implement employee engagement strategies to create and maintain an environment where all employees are respected and valued.
  • Support the organizations Objectives and Key Results initiatives (OKR’s).
  • Engage and interact through training, coaching and orchestrate various high-performance workplace initiatives and practices to continually support and enhance our company culture.
  • Coordinate and work with the management team in support of the full cycle recruitment of new employees.
  • Creation and/or modification of Employee information to master files (payroll, Benefits, Kinetics, etc.)
  • Work with Sr. HRM to assess recruitment sources and to build employer value proposition to attract and retain good talent.
  • Work directly with the functional leaders and managers to ensure effective delivery of programs and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and managing employee relations investigations, including handling sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s / College degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • Educational background or experience in employment law and government compliance regulations is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 to 6 years' experience as HR generalist/specialist preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in working on Ultipro/UKG or similar HMRS preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and use hands to operate the telephone, type and operate computer and mouse.
