Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s NA Crop Protection Human Resources team is looking for a Senior HR Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support throughout the employee lifecycle for our US Crop Protection Production & Supply (P&S) organization. Located at our St. Gabriel manufacturing plant, this person will be the primary HR contact for all employees up to the direct reports of the St. Gabriel Site Leadership team, with additional remote support for our Omaha facility and other P&S teams. The role serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers, while partnering with HR teams to drive operational excellence.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as primary HR contact, supporting the full employee lifecycle and providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and HRIS (Workday) navigation.
  • Coach managers and employees on development, conflict resolution, and performance management while fostering positive employee relations and engagement.
  • Partner across HR, collaborating with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Centers of Expertise (COEs), and contributing to HR initiatives and business projects.
  • Manage employee relations and compliance, conducting investigations with Legal and ensuring consistent policy implementation, in consultation with Legal Counsel and HRBP.
  • Support core people activities, including hiring, onboarding, manager training, offboarding, and immigration processes.
  • Drive operational excellence, identifying areas for process standardization, maintaining & updating organizational structures, and performing data validation reviews.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years in HR, including experience partnering with business stakeholders
  • Working knowledge and understanding of US federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Hands-on human resources experience in non-union manufacturing plant setting
  • Strong employee relations expertise with experience effectively leading investigations and compliance cases.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to legally work in the United States without the need for current or future immigration sponsorship

Additional Information

  • Location: St. Gabriel, LA, manufacturing plant.
  • Travel: 25-30% (including visits to other P&S plants and annual GSO team meeting).
  • Remote Support: Omaha, NE plant
