The Site Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing the full scope of HR guidance to the Industrial Operations organization, covering more than 250 employees across multiple shifts and two locations. The primary site, Bridgeton, MO manufactures critical animal health products, including our companion animal dental suite, supplements, medicinal, and wellness products.
In this role, you will partner directly with the Industrial Operations and Quality Assurance Leadership teams as both a business partner and first point of contact for people leaders and employees, providing counsel on HR fundamentals. Leading a team of one HR Generalist, you will create and execute a Human Resources action plan based on site and business needs that ensures compliant administration of HR processes including staffing, onboarding and labor/employee relations

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise for the full scope of Human Resource (HR) functions including professional and production employee relations, compensation, employee engagement, technical and leadership training, and communication to a diverse client group

  • Perform a leadership role in recruiting and selection of talent, drive process improvement to ensure staffing levels continuously support customer demand; creatively source new and diverse talent for our global organization

  • Lead annual Performance Review process, including mid-year coaching and salary planning for professional staff, support managers by providing tools, coaching on delivering feedback, and creation of individual development plans

  • Provide counsel in the design and implementation of compensation and recognition programs; owns local employee benefits communication, open enrollment efforts, and engagement events/activities

  • Ensure good employee relations, clear policies and procedures are identified and followed per the CBA (collective bargaining agreement); conduct efficient investigations, administer the grievance procedure timely, work with internal and external counsel on contract negotiation and interpretation

  • Facilitate communications throughout the organization including employee opinion surveys and results, roundtables and quarterly town halls

  • Lead with a focus on process improvement, always with respect for the people, develop a strong continuous improvement mindset to improve HR practices and assist us with digital transformation

 

      

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Human Resources Administration, Labor Relations, Organizational Development or similar field or equivalent in education and experience

  • Prior experience in employee relations, serving as an HR Partner in a unionized environment with experience in contract administration, arbitration, EEO / AAP compliance, and litigation

  • 8-10 years’ experience in Human Resources with increasing responsibility

  • Strong interest in innovative HR solutions exposure to HR digital suites including Workday and HRLY timekeeping systems, Kronos, ADP, Workforce Manager/Workforce Now

  • Previous managerial roles, comfortable leading a team, setting clear goals and objectives and managing direct staff in a matrixed environment
