The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in providing comprehensive HR support, ensuring compliance with California labor laws, and promoting a positive and productive work environment. This position partners with leadership to manage employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, performance management, and HR compliance, while also supporting strategic HR initiatives.

- Serve as a subject matter expert on California employment laws and HR best practices.
- Act as the primary HR contact for production employees and supervisors, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Manage employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Support and advise managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations (e.g., CA Labor Code, FMLA/CFRA, FEHA, Cal/OSHA, wage and hour laws).
- Conduct employee orientations, HR trainings, and ongoing development programs to improve retention and engagement.
- Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA) and coordinate accommodations in compliance with CA laws.
- Oversee benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee questions in coordination with brokers/vendors.
- Lead hourly workforce recruitment efforts, including job postings, screenings, interviews, offers, and onboarding. Support the salaried recruitment processes in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure compliance with California wage and hour regulations, including meal and rest break tracking and timecard accuracy.
- Work closely with payroll and finance to ensure accurate compensation, timekeeping, and deductions.
- Lead or support HR audits, compliance efforts, and required reporting (EEO, CA Pay Data Reporting, Vets 4212, and OSHA logs).
- Prepare HR reports and analytics to support business decisions.
- Partner with operations and EHS to support and enforce workplace safety compliance (Cal/OSHA), injury reporting, and workers’ compensation claims.

Targeted Salary Range: $95,000-$103,000
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources in a Generalist capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of California employment law, wage and hour regulations, and safety requirements.
- HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
- Fluent in Spanish preferred.
