JOB PURPOSE
                                                                                                                              
We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist (HRG) to support our US Facilities. The position will be in the Atlanta, GA, area in the Battery as well as our facility located close to Hartsfield International airport.
This role will support employees and management within office teams by managing multiple HR processes, recruitment activities, policy management, HR data processing as well as onboarding and offboarding activities, and employee relations. Additionally, this position will assist with other HR-related initiatives and projects as needed to support both the HR team and the broader organization.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Employee Relations: Act as a resource for handling employee relations matters, conducting investigations, resolving workplace conflict’s multiple locations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Recruitment: Will have responsibility for talent acquisition for the organization in multiple locations and support hiring managers throughout the hiring process up to and including onboarding new hires. This role is responsible for the applicable outreach of veterans, disabled and taking actions applicable to Affirmative Action planning. 
  • Coaching & Management Development: Provide coaching and guidance to managers on effective practices, employee performance, and development strategies to enhance managerial effectiveness.
  • HR Policy & Compliance: Advising on human resource policies and programs to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives and prevent or mitigate violations of legal guidelines and internal policies and procedures; developing, updating, and communicating human resources policies to employees; participating in various internal and external audits; identifying and implementing of human resources best practices suitable for the business group; maintaining compliance records, conducting research, and preparing reports.
  • HR Support & Advising: Act as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries, including benefits, payroll, leaves of absence, and workplace accommodations, escalating complex issues to the appropriate team member as needed.
  • Workforce Planning & Talent Retention: Assist in identifying workforce trends, turnover concerns, and opportunities for retention strategies across locations.
  • Training: Supporting ongoing efforts to improve the performance and satisfaction of employees through a variety of educational methods and programs; conducting skills inventory and recommending solutions for addressing gaps; developing, coordinating, and delivering various training programs to include onboarding, performance management, management skills, and annual compliance training; supporting change management initiatives.

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
  • Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience and comfort within HRIS and ATS systems (UKG, Paycom or like systems).
  • Ability to regularly exercise sound judgment.
  • Maintain a professional presence, act with integrity, and maintain appropriate confidentiality.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices, and compliance.
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and accidents/injuries.
  • Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance, and equipment operation requirements.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

 Supports day-to-day HR operations including assisting with processing employee changes and new hires, assisting with recruiting, administering compensation activities, managing unemployment claims, running HR reports, and responding to HR inquiries. Provides support for terminations, create/maintain job descriptions, and helps facilitate New Hire Orientation. Conducts employee relations investigations, assists with drug and alcohol program management, serves as backup to HR administration functions, compiles HR metrics, and supports employee surveys. Contributes to key HR projects such as Affirmative Action Plan development, EEO-1 reporting, HR policy creation, training administration, and Drug and Alcohol Program audit preparation.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 20 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Locations: PAG Facility locations

Travel: This role requires occasional day and overnight travel to U.S. site locations. (10% or less of the time)

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail and ability to maintain the confidentiality of information; excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; multi-tasking a necessity; thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; ability to type with accuracy and speed; ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive, concerned image to the public; ability to work without supervision; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.

Education/Training:  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required or commensurate additional years of experience.

Experience:  

  • Three plus years of HR generalist type experience supporting over 150 employees and multiple functional areas, with employee relations experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting corporate or multi-site industrial, manufacturing or aviation operations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Certificates/Licenses:

  • HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.

 Other: As with any role at PAG, other duties may be occasionally assigned in the role to support the broader business.
