Description

The HR Operations Manager is essential to delivering outstanding HR operations across multiple areas including HR systems management, compliance, immigration support, and strategic process improvement. This role leverages HR technology and automation to drive operational excellence while managing critical HR functions that directly impact our employees and the organization. The HR Operations Manager will optimize HR processes and systems, ensure regulatory compliance, support international mobility initiatives, and lead cross-functional HR operations projects that enhance both efficiency and employee experience. This role will report to the Senior Director of HR Operations.

Responsibilities

  • HRIS Operations, Data Governance & Reporting – Execute day‑to‑day HRIS operations, including data management, dashboards, reporting, and employee data audits to ensure accuracy and completeness. Ensure timely and compliant flow of HR data to Finance, IT, and Internal Audit, while supporting HCM optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to standardize and automate HR processes.

  • HR Compliance, Audits & Records Management – Serve as the primary contact for all corporate HR audit activities including SOX compliance, internal audits, and regulatory reviews. Maintain internal controls and documentation related to HR processes. Collaborate with Finance and Internal Audit on accurate recording and reporting of financial information. Act as the HR auditing advisor to global HR staff on compliance requirements, audit preparation, and records management. Periodically audit personnel data and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Compensation & Benefits Operations Support the administration of core compensation programs including merit increases, promotions, base pay changes, bonuses, and equity transactions in partnership with HR leadership and Finance. Support benefits administration activities, including open enrollment preparation, vendor coordination, employee data feeds, and issue resolution. Assist with annual compensation cycles, audits, data validation, and internal/external benchmarking requests.
  • Immigration Case Management & International Relocation – Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert for all domestic employee immigration case applications and work authorization processes. Manage end-to-end immigration case handling, coordinate with external immigration counsel, and ensure timely and successful completion of work authorizations to support critical talent acquisition and retention. Facilitate and manage international relocation initiatives in partnership with regional HR teams to ensure smooth employee transitions and compliance with applicable immigration regulations.
  • Process Automation, Digitalization & AI Integration – Identify manual HR operations processes that can be automated, digitalized, or enhanced through AI solutions. Partner in developing and executing a roadmap to transform HR operations through emerging technologies and automation tools that improve efficiency and employee experience. Translate business requirements into process improvements that reduce manual touchpoints and drive operational optimization.
  • HR Operations Support & Strategic Projects – Provide HR guidance to employees and managers for HR programs including merit, bonus, goals, and performance management. Assist with strategic HR operations projects and ad hoc requests that support organizational and HR department objectives.

Experience Requirements

  • 5-8 years of HR Operations experience with a demonstrated track record of process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Proven experience in an HR Operations Manager, Sr. HR Generalist, or HR Systems–focused role.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting compensation programs (merit, promotions, bonuses, salary changes) and benefits administration processes.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing HRIS systems (preferably Oracle HCM, Workday, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms)
  • Demonstrated experience translating manual processes into automated, system-based solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Self-starter with initiative to identify and drive process improvements independently
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential HR information and strong knowledge of HR best practices and federal/state labor laws
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred; PHR or SPHR acceptable (or equivalent HRIS-focused certifications)

 

For roles that are based at our headquarters in Milpitas, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  

Annual Salary Range $115,000—$145,000 USD
