PRIMARY AND FACILITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a current knowledge of state and federal laws regarding human resources activities and ensure compliance.
- Coach, counsel, and engage on employee relations issues.
- Partner with management to provide strategic guidance for the business, regulations (state and federal), policy, and talent decisions.
- Help implement human resources policies and procedures.
- Provide advice, assistance, and follow-up on company policies and procedures, and documentation.
- Build partnerships to effectively engage, listen, coach, and deliver effective feedback.
- Conduct exit interviews, serve as company representative on unemployment hearings, and assist the HR Manager in responding to any required federal or state requests.
- Act as HR representative on various committees and as a point person on special projects, as assigned.
- Respond to personnel inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Support recruiting efforts and the selection process.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring compliance in policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
- Advise management on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, handling them timely and confidentially.
- Counsel and coach managers and employees to further company business objectives.
- Perform investigations where appropriate, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- Initiate and complete projects and programs of diverse scope and complexity to support business initiatives, requiring heavy interface with the management team to independently identify opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Participate in monthly toolbox talks with HSE and Quality.
- Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.
- Provide guidance and assist with visa applications, renewals, and other immigration-related matters to employees and management.
- Perform other work-related tasks and duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or HR Management with 5 - 7 years Human Resources Generalist experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, laws, and regulations, including immigration and visa processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
