Job Title: Training Manager Department: Operations Support
Reports to: Plant Manager Classification: Salaried Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Training Manager leads the development of the Operations Team relating to training, qualifications, selection, documentation, and succession planning of the operations hourly team. Ensures leaders are following training guidelines and programs that promote team member engagement and success. Develops training programs that improve employee performance, retention, engagement, and morale.
Utilizes knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities to integrate training and performance goals to ensure team members and leaders are focused and on schedule with team member development. Manages operational data from Red Zone in support of the Operations Team in measuring and defining opportunities for achieving goals and continual improvement.
Support the production of safe, high-quality products and team member safety.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Company-wide interactions with various department leaders, teams, and team members. Including but not limited to Production, Maintenance and Engineering, and Human Resources.
External: Numerous business partners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES (include, but are not limited to):
- Manage coordination of Training related initiatives to support the Operations Team. This will include the recommendation and selection of third party support resources.
- Lead the development and implementation of the operations Training Curriculum in partnership with Operations Leaders. This will include productivity related, safety related, and compliance with Food Safety and FSMA related requirements.
- Operational support with the implementation and utilization of Learning Management Systems (LMS), which will allow various departments to deliver training content to the workforce.
- Provide data management support with the use of the Redzone database, to include Team Member interaction and support at all levels.
- Interact with internal departments and Redzone support coaches for the identification and resolution of database related challenges.
- Administration of team member qualification and evaluation process to include maintenance of training materials and checklists, reminders & record keeping of reviews
- Active participation on corporate communication and recognition teams.
- Partners with departmental leaders in workforce planning and training to support corporate succession planning and qualified staff.
- Serve as the new hire onboarding champion. Develop onboarding curriculum and processes to ensure all team members receive a warm welcome and are set up for success beyond their first day. Champion the development of mentoring programs for hourly TM’s.
- Ownership of employee job training programming. Hands-on coordination and development of training plans, content, delivery, and tracking methods as needed to leverage technology that match the needs of the workforce. Coordinate with supervisors and managers as needed to maintain the program and systems.
- Coordination of individual training plan delivery; interface with trainers and trainees to facilitate feedback and adjust training as needed.
- Support the development of front line supervisors through training and documentation.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree required; Preferred Bachelor Degree, in Business, Planning, Operations, Education, or Psychology field of study.
- Experience in supply chain and manufacturing support role preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel (intermediate or advanced proficiency preferred), Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Experience with Red Zone or similar manufacturing software preferred.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean concepts

The anticipated annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $82,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience level.
