This role designs and conducts Corporate’s Cemetery Operations Support Department employee training programs, both in person and virtually. Monitoring and reporting the effectiveness of employee training during the orientation period and for career development is expected. Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, initiate employee training best practices and travel is required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Determines training objectives and communicates goals
  • Develops training documentation, presentations and support materials
  • Manages time effectively
  • Delivers training on all related subjects for the process, application or system
    • Provides clear directions for learning activities and exercises
    • Explains the purpose of the course content and its components
    • Uses learning aids effectively
    • Presents a road map of the course or unit
    • Makes transitions
    • Summarizes key learning points
    • Explains or seeks the benefits of using the course and its components
    • Demonstrates content knowledge
    • Uses process skills (check for understanding and make procedural suggestions)
    • Holds audience attention
    • Uses appropriate non-verbal and verbal communication
    • Listens and responds to learners with empathy
    • Encourages learner involvement
  • Manages training schedules and calendars
  • Works with Managers to make all necessary training preparations, including securing rooms, technology (i.e. computer access), scheduling,  meals, etc.
  • Coordinates printing and shipping of training materials to field locations for on-site training classes
  • Supports requests for training
  • Administers tests to determine effectiveness of training
  • Completes reports to document employee training, dates, place of training, topics covered and any follow-up items required and completed
  • Conducts refresher training
  • Continuous improvement to training content
  • May lead and direct the work of others including creating and managing schedules for trainers

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Certification/License

  • Valid state driver’s license in good standing

Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in training development and training delivery
  • Interment Verification Policy and Procedure experience a plus
  • Cemetery industry knowledge is not mandatory, but preferred
  • Advanced working experience in Microsoft Office and business applications
  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand business practices and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and reach goals
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Ability to travel as needed

Work CONDITIONS

Work Environment

  • Work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions
  • Local and/or multiple location traveling required
  • Comply with Corporate dress code policy

Work Postures

  • Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
  • Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently

Physical Demands

  • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
  • Lifting of boxes, laptops, etc. up to 10 pounds

Work Hours

  • Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
  • Travel 30%
