Pay Range: $215,000 - $225,000
Job Summary: The Vice President of Human Resources provides strategic leadership in developing and executing HR initiatives that support business objectives, foster team member engagement, and enhance organizational effectiveness. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and culture development, while collaborating with senior leadership to drive company-wide HR strategies.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Develop and execute HR strategies that align with business goals and support a high-performing workplace culture.
Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, and succession planning to attract and retain top talent.
Lead employee relations efforts, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and employment laws.
Direct compensation, benefits, and wellness programs to maintain competitive offerings that enhance team member satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour laws.
Drive performance management initiatives, including leadership development, coaching, and succession planning.
Implement HR technology solutions, optimizing processes and reporting for improved efficiency and decision-making.
Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing insights on organizational development and team member engagement.
Lead efforts to foster an inclusive and dynamic workplace.
Manage HR budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for HR programs and initiatives.
Oversee HR metrics and analytics, using data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Partner with operations teams to support hotel leadership in managing HR functions at the property level.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR role.
Experience managing HR compliance and employment regulations specific to New York and California.
Prior hospitality industry experience required, with a strong understanding of hotel operations and workforce dynamics.
Extensive experience with Workday HRIS, including implementation, optimization, and reporting.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour compliance.
Proven ability to lead strategic HR initiatives, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and engagement programs.
Experience managing compensation and benefits programs, including wellness initiatives and employee engagement strategies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret HR metrics and drive data-based decision-making.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, property teams, and external partners.
Ability to develop and implement HR policies and programs that support both corporate and field-based team members.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Work Environment:
Primarily works in a corporate office environment with frequent use of computers, HRIS systems, and communication platforms.
Regular interaction with executive leadership, HR teams, and property-level management.
Requires occasional travel to hotel properties, industry conferences, and regional meetings, including locations in New York and California.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
