Vice President of Human Resources
As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will be responsible for supporting nearly 50 professionals building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place throughout Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, Saint Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties. The best part? You won't do it alone β your team includes a Human Resources & Administrative Associate, an experienced insurance broker, a knowledgeable employment attorney, a seasoned leadership team, fellow Human Resources colleagues across the Girl Scout movement, and a caring, committed CEO who will consistently challenge you to do your best work. This is a role that does not come open very often; the last two HR professionals were with the organization for about six years each.
The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for proactively directing the Council's comprehensive human resources function to include planning, budgeting, data analysis, systems management, full-cycle recruitment, retention, benefits, compensation, performance management, professional development, employee relations, employee engagement, and legal compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and ordinances. You will also be responsible for researching, identifying and adhering to sound business and best human resources management practices.
Every day will be different as the Vice President of Human Resources. Every week, you will meet with the CEO 1:1 to discuss priorities, provide thought partnership, and seek guidance; you will also meet with your Human Resources & Administrative Associate to get status updates on assignments, answer questions, collaborate, and provide support. Every two weeks, you will participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings. Every month, you will oversee the processing of benefits bills and filing. Every other month, you will plan and host all-team meetings. Each year, you will oversee the summer camp hiring process, lead open enrollment, and help plan and staff special events like our Annual Retreat and Holiday Party. To thrive in this role, you must be a tech-savvy self-starter with superior multi-tasking and relationship building skills.
The Vice President of Human Resources position requires a bachelor's degree, at least six years of recent, relevant experience, and supervisory experience or training. A PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is strongly preferred. Bilingual (Spanish or French) is preferred. Only those candidates meeting the minimum requirements will be considered. The hiring range for this position is $76,437-$80,034.
This is an exempt, benefitted, in-based Vice President of Human Resources position that is located at our Administrative Headquarters in Lake Worth. Typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. β 6:00 p.m. Monday β Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. β 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays with a 30-minute lunch. Benefits begin the first of the month after 60 days of employment. After successful completion of the 90-day Introductory Period, you will be eligible to participate in Office Optional Mondays, where you may work from home.
