Job Summary: The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) will be based onsite at our Vallejo, CA manufacturing facility and oversee all HR functions, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, training, and overall organizational development within a dynamic construction environment. The VP of HR will play a critical role in shaping the company’s culture, fostering a safe and productive work environment, and developing HR strategies to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
• Oversee talent acquisition, retention, and workforce planning to support company growth.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Lead employee relations efforts, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive work culture.
• Implement and manage compensation, benefits, and performance management programs.
• Develop training and development programs to enhance workforce capabilities and leadership growth.
• Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to promote a fair and inclusive workplace.
• Partner with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with business operations and long-term strategy.
• Oversee HR policies, procedures, and HRIS systems to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve HR functions within the construction sector.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of HR leadership experience, preferably in the construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, OSHA regulations, and construction workforce compliance.
• Experience in managing large, dispersed teams, including union and non-union workforces.
• Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies that drive business success.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
• Spanish-speaker highly preferred.
