Position Overview:

Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the human resources function, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compliance, HRIS, compensation and benefits, and workplace safety including workers’ compensation. 

Working in collaboration with executive leadership, the Vice President develops and executes the company’s human resource strategy in alignment with core business objectives. This role also serves as an advisor to the President and Executive Leadership team on all matters related to human resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Talent Acquisition and Management:

Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract, develop and retain top talent. Develop innovative recruitment strategies and programs that strengthen the company’s ability to attract, develop, and retain employees.

  •  Employee Engagement:

Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture. Design and lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.

  •  Employee Relations/Organizational Development:

Provide guidance and counsel on employee relations matters. Oversee the employee relations and counseling process to ensure consistency, fairness and legal compliance, including conducting investigations when necessary. Partner with leadership on workforce planning to maximize productivity.

  •  Compensation and Benefits:

Continuously review internal and external market data to ensure the company offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards program.  

  •  Performance Management:

Lead the performance management process, ensuring consistent feedback, equitable evaluation practices, and legal compliance across the organization.  

  •  HR Data and Analytics:

Analyze organizational trends and HR metrics through the company’s HRIS to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.

  •  Compliance:

Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other applicable laws and human resources best practices.

  •  Safety and Workers Compensation:

Provide leadership and oversight for the occupational health and safety programs as well as workers compensation management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience including leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft office applications.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and leadership skills.
  • Proven analytical abilities for evaluating HR metrics and making data driven decisions.  

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Labor Relations, or related field. 
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

 

Work Location:

This position is located in Albany, NY at the company’s corporate office. The role is an in-person, on-site position and requires regular travel to company car wash locations.

The hiring range includes total compensation of $200,000-$215,000 including a base salary of $100,000-$115,000 plus a performance-based bonus program.  A competitive benefits package is also offered.
