Since our founding 11 years ago, Riser Fitness has grown to 75+ studios across the Unites States. With 40 additional territories in development, we remain focused on continued growth, exploring new territories and opportunities to solidify our standing within the Club Pilates system.
POSITION: We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Human Resources in building and scaling our people operations. This is a dual-role that requires both strategic vision and a roll-up-your sleeves attitude. You will be responsible for architecting our people strategy while ensuring flawless execution across recruiting, onboarding, culture, performance, compliance, and organizational development and payroll/benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership
Design and execute a scalable HR strategy aligned with rapid growth and long-term business objectives.
Partner with the senior leadership team to shape organizational structure, workforce planning, and leadership development.
Lead change management during periods of scaling, restructuring, or acquisition.
Tactical Execution
Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition processes to support fast-paced hiring across all departments.
Build and manage core HR functions including employee relations, compensation/payroll & benefits, compliance, and HRIS scalability.
Implement performance management frameworks that drive accountability, engagement, and continuous feedback, while mitigating company risk.
Serve as an advisor and coach to leaders and managers on day-to-day HR support.
Compliance, Payroll, & Risk Mitigation
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, labor relations, and workplace safety.
Oversee payroll operation, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing across jurisdictions.
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to reduce risk and support business continuity.
Lead and identify internal audits to address employee relations issues, investigations, and litigation risk.
Identify and mitigate risks related to employment practices, contracts, and organizational restructuring.
Culture & Engagement
Champion a mission-driven, high-performance culture that reflects our values and energizes our team.
Drive programs around employee recognition, wellness, professional development, and internal communications.
Manage and refine employee onboarding, offboarding, and retention programs to ensure consistent experience for both day-to-day and during acquisition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, in a high-growth or startup environments.
Proven experience leading both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.
Deep understanding of employment laws and compliance (U.S. and/or international, as applicable).
Track record of scaling teams rapidly while maintaining a positive and inclusive culture.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience in fitness, wellness, lifestyle, or consumer brands a plus.
