Job Title: Accounting & Human Resources Specialist

Location: Warwick Hotel San Francisco
Job Type: Full-Time | On-site 
Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting & Human Resources Specialist to manage essential functions in both finance and HR. This dual-role position is ideal for a professional with a solid background in accounting and a working knowledge of California HR compliance and best practices.

 Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Duties (Approx. 60%)

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Manage payroll processing and coordinate with payroll service providers
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations

Human Resources Duties (Approx. 40%)

  • Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain personnel records in compliance with California labor laws
  • Manage benefits enrollment and respond to employee inquiries
  • Support compliance with workplace safety, EEOC, and wage/hour laws
  • Coordinate employee training and professional development
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Assist with HR policy development and enforcement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping AND HR/generalist functions
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws and payroll practices
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (or other accounting software) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Experience in a small business or startup environment

  • Salary range: $80,000 per year (depending on experience)
