JOB SUMMARY:
To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by managing an effective team to provide quality services. Conduct investigations and written reports, consult with agency supervisors on labor relations and other HR issues, review and recommend disciplinary action, and ensure processing, monitoring and follow-up for of all leaves of absence. Respond to unemployment claims and attend unemployment hearings.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, public administration or related field; Three years of related experience. Experience in Labor Relations, Benefits, Workers Compensation, and Unemployment Compensation. Preferred but not required: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP), Certified Employee Relations Professional/Manager (CERP/CERM), HRCI-PHR (Professional Human Resources)/SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification; PA Driver’s License/Use of own vehicle: Must have good computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Software, such as Word; Must possess excellent writing skills, excellent human relations skills, and analytical ability.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Conduct thorough disciplinary and grievance investigations in a timely manner and ensure reports are issued as required
2. Conduct studies to analyze trends in investigations and to ensure follow up of approved recommendations for investigations
3. Consult with agency supervisors on all labor relations and other HR issues and recommend appropriate solutions
4. Review all disciplinary actions for consistency and make recommendations for appropriate action
5. Maintain electronic records regarding disciplinary actions via ADP and network folders
6. Respond to any Human Relations/EEOC complaints, including document preparation and coordination with legal counsel and attend hearings, as necessary
7. Monitor all agency grievances to ensure our agency procedure is followed and to ensure resolution
8. Review, monitor, and complete reports on all unemployment claims and attend hearings as necessary
9. As a backup to the Assistant Director of HRIS and Benefits, review, monitor, and ensure processing of all worker’s compensation claims and attend meetings as necessary
10. Conduct and provide feedback reports on exit interviews and new hire outreach
11. Facilitate Supervisor/Manager training sessions
12. As a backup to the Assistant Director of HRIS and Benefits, review and process long-term disability claims as necessary
13. As a backup to the Assistant Director of HRIS and Benefits, review and process OSHA reports
14. In conjunction with the HR Compliance/Operations Director administer HR Policies and ensure compliance with ADA, EEOC regulations, FMLA, and other applicable laws
