Job summary

The Assistant Human Resources Manager works closely with the HR Manager to oversee daily HR operations

and support the organization's strategic goals. This role requires a strong blend of leadership, decision-

making, and hands-on execution across employee relations, performance management, compliance, and

benefits administration. The ideal candidate serves as a trusted advisor to both management and staff,

fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work culture.


Essential Job Functions

1. Employee Relations & Culture

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.

• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues fairly, efficiently, and in compliance with legal standards.

• Champion initiatives that boost employee engagement, retention, and morale.

2. Benefits & Compensation Administration

• Assist in managing employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave administration & interactive process management (FMLA, short-term disability, etc.).

• Support annual open enrollment periods and conduct employee benefits briefings.

• Assist with compensation benchmarking.

3. Compliance & Performance Management

• Maintain thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws to ensure strict organizational compliance.

• Assist with annual performance review process, providing coaching to managers on constructive feedback and goal setting.

• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and confidential personnel records within the HRIS.


Compensation Disclosure
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. The base salary range for this role is $83,200 to $130,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation, in accordance with California labor law. Additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, may be available based on performance and business needs.


At-Will Employment

This position is classified as at-will employment in accordance with California law. Employment may be terminated by either the employer or employee at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.


Work Location
This position is primarily based in our office located at 1200 discovery Dr. STE 300, Bakersfield Ca, 93309. 
Regular in-office attendance is required during standard business hours.
