Job Title: Bookkeeper / HR Assistant
Immediate Supervisor: Human Resources Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper / HR Assistant is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department and financial operations through accurate bookkeeping and HR administrative duties. This position plays a key role in maintaining employee records, assisting with benefit administration, onboarding and offboarding processes, and supporting recruitment activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and experienced in accounts payable, with working knowledge of QuickBooks and Paycom considered a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage accounts payable and financial records using accounting software (preferably QuickBooks)
  • Assist with HR administrative functions including onboarding, offboarding, and recruitment coordination
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files
  • Support benefit administration tasks including enrollment and employee inquiries
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources Manager
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned for administrative and compliance purposes

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 1โ€“2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role required
  • Preferably 1โ€“2 years of experience in human resources or administrative support

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with QuickBooks required; Paycom experience is a plus
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Professional Crisis Management certification (or obtained within a specified timeframe)
  • Must pass background checks and have a valid driverโ€™s license, as transportation of individuals may be required

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move intermittently. Use hands to handle or feel. Ability to turn on the knees, back, wrist, shoulders, and grasp with both hands. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
