Position Overview
The Certified Prosthetist / Orthotist is responsible for delivering comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, compliance, and patient satisfaction. This role partners closely with physicians, therapists, case managers, and referral sources to assess patient needs, design effective treatment solutions, and ensure optimal device fit, comfort, and function.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality prosthetic and orthotic patient care in accordance with clinical best practices and CPO standards
- Conduct patient evaluations, assess functional needs, and recommend appropriate prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and case managers regarding patient care and device selection
- Design, fit, adjust, and troubleshoot prosthetic and orthotic devices to ensure comfort, functionality, and patient satisfaction
- Maintain open, professional communication with patients, caregivers, administrative staff, and clinical team members
- Identify and resolve device or patient-care issues efficiently and compassionately
- Educate patients, families, and referral partners on treatment objectives, device usage, and care plans
- Actively engage with referral sources to promote CPO’s clinical capabilities and services
- Ensure full compliance with Medicare, OSHA, ABC, and state regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with reimbursement and compliance standards
- Contribute to a positive clinic culture through teamwork, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients
- Ability to collaborate openly while maintaining a professional, patient-focused demeanor
- Proven organizational, time management, and care-planning skills
- Solid understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and medical terminology
- Comprehensive knowledge of prosthetic and orthotic componentry, including suitability and reliability for various patient needs
- Healthcare sales or referral development experience preferred, but not required
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ABC Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics required
- 2–5 years of experience providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $75,000 annually for newly certified clinicians
- Additional compensation available based on experience, and clinical leadership
