What You'll Do:
As the EHR Coordinator, you will support the maintenance and management of electronic health records systems and other client records, ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and security of client records.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide direct supervision to Health Information Department (HIM) personnel, overseeing staff training, standards of work adherence, assignment, and coordination to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with SCADD policies, applicable laws.
- Maintenance of Records: Oversee the daily operations of the health records systems and related platforms, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and proper user access permissions.
- Coordination: Collaborate closely with departments and HIM staff to facilitate effective operation of the EHR systems and resolve emerging issues.
- Compliance Assistance: Promote compliance by ensuring that HIM practices consistently adhere to pertinent regulations , standards and contract requirements.
- User Support: Provide technical assistance and training for EHR systems users, enabling effective navigation and utilization.
- Data Security and Privacy: Manage the maintenance of privacy and security protocols to protect patient/client information, maintain confidentiality and ensure HIPAA and CFR 42 Part 2 regulations are met.
- Process Improvement: Participate in ongoing enhancement of EHR processes and systems by identifying improvement opportunities and recommending solutions.
- Documentation: Oversee the coordination within the HIM department to ensure that all documentation related to EHR procedures, processes, and user manuals is thorough, precise, and up to date.
- External Reporting Accuracy: Verify the accuracy and completeness of external reports submitted to the state agency DMHAS, ensuring all required data is provided according to established guidelines and deadlines.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year related experience, including supervisory/leadership. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Certificate in medical/health records management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Behavioral Health regulations requirements related to HIPAA, CFR 42 Part 2 and Informational Technology and report building.
