Description

 Centurion is proud to be a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and community mental health centers nationwide.

We are currently seeking a full-time Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist to join our team in Springfield, Illinois. Salary starting at $80,000 depending on years of experience. 

The EHR (Electronic Health Record) Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s electronic health record system. This role works closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to ensure the EHR is optimized for accurate documentation, compliance, and efficient workflow. The EHR Specialist serves as a subject matter expert, trainer, and problem-solver to support end users and ensure system functionality meets organizational needs.

 

  • Support the setup, configuration, and customization of the EHR system
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate with IT to resolve technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist with upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts
  • Provide help desk support for EHR-related issues, including troubleshooting and escalation
  • Develop and deliver training materials, manuals, and sessions for new and existing users
  • Conduct workflow assessments to identify areas for process improvement
  • Serve as a resource for best practices in documentation and EHR use
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of health records
  • Create and run reports to support clinical and operational needs
  • Assist in data migration, audits, and quality assurance checks
  • Work closely with clinical leadership to align EHR functionality with patient care goals
  • Partner with IT and compliance teams to maintain system integrity and security
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather feedback and plan improvements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support system optimization and organizational goals

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, IT, or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience working with EHR systems in a healthcare environment
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations
  • Experience with Fusion is required 
  • Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
