Job Description

Job Title: Head of Human Resources
Company: Confidential (Residential Remodeling)
Location: Hybrid/ Remote, Philadelphia/South Jersey
Type: Full-Time | Executive Leadership
OTE: $180,000 - 200,000+

About Our Client

Our client is redefining residential remodeling through quality craftsmanship, customer-first service, and operational excellence. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the home improvement space, they are expanding across multiple markets—and need an HR leader who can scale systems and culture in lockstep with the business.

We are hiring a Head of Human Resources to build and optimize the internal people systems that power their teams—from field operations to executive leadership. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will serve as a key strategic advisor across the organization.

What You’ll Do

People Systems & HR Infrastructure
• Lead the implementation and management of HR platforms including HRIS, time tracking, performance management, and benefits systems
• Build scalable processes and documentation for every stage of the employee lifecycle—onboarding, role changes, compliance, and offboarding
• Develop reporting and analytics to support workforce planning and business decision-making

Policy & Compliance Management
• Draft and enforce policies, handbooks, and procedures that ensure legal compliance while aligning with company values
• Oversee risk management and compliance efforts across multi-state operations
• Lead internal audits, documentation, and compliance reviews as needed

Executive Advisement & Leadership Development
• Advise the CFO and other executives on organizational design, workforce structure, and leadership development initiatives
• Build and deploy frameworks for manager training, performance reviews, and leadership coaching
• Partner with department heads to ensure alignment of HR strategy with business goals

Employee Relations & Culture Support
• Serve as the point of contact for escalated employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
• Develop fair, consistent protocols for documentation and resolution of employee concerns
• Drive initiatives that reinforce a strong, values-based culture across all locations

What We’re Looking For
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role
• Demonstrated success building people systems and HR infrastructure within a fast-growing, field-based organization (construction, remodeling, or trades strongly preferred)
• Expertise in employee relations, compliance, policy creation, and HR technology
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a balance of strategic and hands-on execution
• Multi-state experience and familiarity with applicable labor laws

Preferred Qualifications
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
• Experience in founder-led or private, high-growth companies
• Proficiency with platforms such as BambooHR, Paycom, or similar

Why This Role
Our client is not just remodeling homes—they’re transforming their internal operations to support rapid, sustainable growth. This is an opportunity to architect a high-performing, people-first HR function from the ground up in a business that values culture as much as craftsmanship.
