Role Overview

Classical Transportation INC. is seeking a versatile and proactive Head of Human Resources to manage our most valuable asset: our people. This role is a blend of high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You will oversee everything from the initial interview and hiring process to payroll administration and daily HR operations. The ideal candidate will ensure our team stays motivated, compliant, and well-supported as we scale.


Key Responsibilities

Hiring & Talent Acquisition: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting job ads, sourcing candidates, conducting initial interviews, and coordinating with department heads.


Onboarding & Offboarding: Design and lead the onboarding experience to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly into the company culture.


Payroll & Benefits: Oversee timely and accurate payroll processing, manage employee benefits programs, and handle tax documentation.


Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive, transparent, and high-performance work environment.


Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and regulations to ensure company policies are compliant and mitigate legal risks.


HR Operations: Manage employee records, track PTO/sick leave, and update the company handbook as needed.


Performance Tracking: Assist in setting KPIs and conducting performance reviews to encourage professional growth.


Qualifications

Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in Human Resources (experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus).


Software Skills: Proficiency with HRIS, payroll software (QuickBooks), and ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems).


Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.


Reliability: High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (SHRM or HRCI certification preferred).
