About Humanly

Humanly builds AI-native hiring software that turns recruiting from a reactive scramble into a predictable system. Built for hourly, frontline, and high-volume hiring, we don't just give teams tools — we deliver pre-vetted, ready-to-hire candidates on demand. Our AI conducts over 9,000 interviews a day for hundreds of customers, including Microsoft, Domino's, MGM Resorts, and Massage Envy.

We recently closed a $25M Series B, and we're using it to accelerate what's already working: expanding the platform, growing the team, and deepening our reach with the companies who rely on us. Headquartered in Bellevue, WA with a team that spans the globe, we're at the stage where the foundation is built, the momentum is real, and the ceiling is wherever we decide to put it.

We call ourselves Human Beans. We take ownership, move fast, and care about doing the right thing — for our customers, for candidates, and for each other. AI is core to what we build, and we're intentionally building a workplace where it's embedded in how we work too. We know the future is changing, and we're changing with it. If that's the kind of place where you do your best work, we'd love to meet you.

The Role

Humanly is entering a new growth phase. The foundation is in place and the work ahead is to decide what scales, what gets reinvented, and what we build next as we grow from 50 to 100+.

As Head of People, you'll partner directly with the CEO and the executive team on the decisions that shape everyone here — how we hire, how people grow, and how we show up for each other as we scale. The systems and culture you build upon will be felt by every Human Bean.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be in the weeds and at the leadership table on the same day, and the right person finds energy in both. You won't have a People team behind you from day one — you'll use AI to handle the load that doesn't need a human touch, so your time goes to the work that does.

The Head of People role is in-person at our Bellevue, WA office, four days a week. We build better together.

What You'll Own

Executive Partnership & People Strategy

  • Be a thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on the people calls that matter at this stage

  • Translate company strategy and growth plans into a clear People roadmap

  • Partner on organizational design, headcount planning, leveling, and talent decisions

Talent Acquisition

  • Own the TA function — own the strategy and call whether to scale through vendors, in-house, or a hybrid model

  • Implement competency frameworks, scorecards, and structured interview processes

  • Partner with leaders to forecast hiring needs and maintain exceptional talent quality

  • Make sure every hire raises the bar against Humanly's values and performance expectations

Performance Management

  • Design and run our performance cycle — goal-setting, reviews, calibration, leveling, and career frameworks

  • Build manager enablement — training on feedback, performance, and hiring decisions

  • Coach managers through difficult conversations and bring judgment where the playbook doesn't apply

Compensation & Benefits

  • Lead compensation strategy — pay bands, equity practices, and total rewards as we scale and acquire

  • Conduct market benchmarking and make sure our comp philosophy holds up across functions and stages

  • Own benefits end-to-end; make sure what we offer matches the company we're becoming

Culture & Engagement

  • Strengthen our Human Beans culture through systems, rituals, and expectations

  • Design company-wide engagement programs, off-sites, and recognition initiatives

  • Own engagement measurement and act on what the data tells us

People Operations & HR Infrastructure

  • Own HRIS, payroll, employee data, handbook, and policies; make build/buy/PEO calls on our people stack

  • Build an onboarding engine that gets new hires to velocity fast — structured 90-day plans by role, with clear milestones

  • Manage employee relations and ensure compliance across multi-state employment

  • Lead post-acquisition People integration — bring teams, comp, benefits, leveling, and culture from acquired entities into one Humanly system

AI-Enabled People Organization

  • Embed AI tools and agents across hiring, onboarding, performance, and people ops where they earn their keep

  • Use AI to remove the transactional load before it grows

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years in People, with at least 2–3 years as the senior-most People leader in a venture-backed company

  • You've scaled a company through 50 → 100+ and know what breaks at each stage. You've seen what good looks like — and what overbuilt looks like

  • Builder mindset. You can look at what got us here, decide it is or it’s not what gets us where we're going

  • Executive partnership chops. You can partner / influence at the executive level to push your people programs forward

  • Strong opinions on prioritization. You're more interested in solving what matters now than installing every program you've run before

  • Range across the full stack: talent strategy, comp & benefits, ER, compliance, HRIS — you don't need a specialist for every function because you can do the work yourself when needed

  • AI fluency in your own work. You're already using AI tools to do the job — not just thinking about it

  • Comfort being in the weeds and at the leadership table on the same day — and energized by both

Even Better

  • Experience as the only People leader at a Series B+ company

  • Post-acquisition People integration experience

  • Familiarity with: Gusto, Rippling, PEOs/EORs, Ashby, Lattice, Notion, Google Workspace, Slack
