Hillsong Global team is looking for a Head of People Operations to oversee the development and delivery of our global People Operations initiatives that support Hillsong's vision and help shape how we care for, grow and engage our global team. 


If your application is successful, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 


Leadership 

  • Provide strategic leadership of People Operations in alignment with Hillsong’s vision, priorities and organizational needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Global Chief Operating Officer and church leadership, offering expertise in workforce strategy, organizational design, succession planning, risk management and employee relations.
  • Champion and drive continuous innovation in People practice supporting the evolving needs of a global, mission-driven organization.
  • Drive strategic workforce planning, succession, talent acquisition, retention, and leadership development initiatives. 

People Operations Programs, Policies and Compliance 

  • Oversee globally consistent yet regionally adaptable People Operations programs, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with Hillsong’s mission.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for recruitment, performance development, and learning and development.
  • Lead the development of a compelling Employer Value Proposition (EVP) to support global team engagement and retention.
  • Guide the development of compensation, benefits, and recognition frameworks that reflect Hillsong’s values and financial stewardship.
  • Utilize data and analytics to provide actionable insights into workforce trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and ethical integrity across all locations. 

Employee Experience and Well-Being

  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and compliant resolution in alignment with Hillsong values and culture.  
  • Coach managers in performance management best practices, including goal setting, feedback, and professional development.  
  • Lead and oversee complex workplace investigations and employee relations, ensuring Hillsong upholds integrity, compliance and a people-first approach.  
  • Champion employee well-being, developing initiatives that support holistic workplace wellness.  

Global Mobility and Collaboration 

  • Develop and lead strategies that support global mobility, including cross-border assignments, remote work structures, and international team integration.  
  • Foster unity and strengthen bonds among global teams through initiatives that promote connection, collaboration and shared purpose.  

Culture and Leadership Development 

  • Lead and implement leadership learning and development initiatives to equip and empower leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Embed Hillsong’s values and mission in all aspects of people practices and organizational culture.
  • Drive unity and belonging initiatives alongside the Unity and Belonging Advisory Committee.   
     

Ideally, a successful candidate will have: 


Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CIPD, CHRL) preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior strategic role in a global, multi-site organization.
  • Experience in a church, nonprofit, or faith-based context is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven success in leading People Operations functions across recruitment, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement.
  • Familiarity with global employment laws, HR systems, and international workforce planning.
