Job Title: Human Resource Assistant (HRA)

 

Reports to: Human Resource Manager

 

Type: Hourly

 

Job Purpose:

The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR Manager, Director of Finance, General Manager, Payroll, and all others across all three divisions. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and familiarity with employment laws. To be successful in this position the candidate needs to be self-motivated, highly organized, prior administrative experience, and excellent communication skills.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Must be able to work with Division Leaders, Director of Finance, Payroll, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for posting job openings, screening resumes/applications, and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with the onboarding/offboarding process of new hires and employees. 
  • Maintain accurate employee files, including personal information, employment documents, performance reviews, and disciplinary          documents. 
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws and company policies by maintaining necessary documentation and reporting issues to the HR Manager. 
  • Answer employee questions and assist with processing enrollment forms.
  • Handle general administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate and attend networking events as needed.
  • Assist with coordinating community events and sponsorships.
  • Answer incoming calls from our field staff along with our administrative team.
  • Assist with managing our internal HR database and social media profiles.
  • Responsible for attending and actively participating in daily huddle meetings as required. 
  • Assist the HR Manager in maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Expected to take ownership to solve problems in a manner that results in the best possible outcome for the organization.
  • Assist with employee evaluations as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • An associate’s degree is required. 
  • Skills in recruitment, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail are critical in this role.
  • Able to maintain professionalism & a courteous demeanor as a representative of the company.
  • Must be personable, dedicated, have a positive attitude, and have excellent people skills.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting and carrying:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds with assistance.
  • The ability to work beyond standard schedule when necessary.
  • Ability to sit for a prolonged period.

 Mobility:

  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Weather considerations:

  • Must be able and willing to visit job sites, when necessary, in extreme weather conditions like heat, cold, rain, and wind. 

Office Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills along with data entry required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues and vendors at all levels.
  • Administrative tasks may be requested/required

 Work hours may be between 8am-4:30pm
