Industrial Communications is seeking an experienced HR assistant to support our HR department with recruitment and payroll tasks. This role reports directly to the HR Generalist. The ideal candidate for this role will be detail-oriented and have great time management and communication skills. This job is classified as hourly, non-exempt.
Responsibilities
- Increase quality applicant flow by partnering with community partners, attending job fairs, advertising and sourcing new pipelines. This includes cold-calling sourced candidates, as needed.
- Identify partnership and recruitment opportunities with local trade schools.
- Working with the managers/supervisors on the positional needs, what is required for the position, and coming up with a job description.
- Responsible for positing and updating the job ads and responding to candidates who apply on various job posting websites.
- Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements and conduct initial screening of candidates.
- Schedule, coordinate and communicate interview schedules with Hiring Managers and Candidates.
- Manage candidates throughout the full recruiting cycle (i.e., communicate status, answer questions, prepare, negotiate, and extend offers, obtain new hire paperwork, initiate pre-employment processes, schedule start dates, participate in on-boarding, etc.) with oversight from HR generalist.
- Create/update job descriptions for every position in the company.
- Process weekly payroll for all employees.
- Complete weekly certified prevailing wage reporting.
- Process monthly commissions.
- Provide cash requirements to accounts payable for funding each payroll.
- Maintain employee payroll records with absolute confidentiality.
- Assist with other duties as directed.
