QUALIFICATIONS

 

      Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • HR Certificate preferred; or attained within one year of employment

 

      Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an HR environment, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of all employment laws are desirable
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Possesses the following skills:
    1. Strong communication
    2. Interpersonal
    3. Decision making
    4. Time management
    5. Excellent organizational skills
    6. HR IT software competency

ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES

      Human Resources Assistant Tasks

  • Primary liaison between Human Resources and Payroll
  • Responsible for assisting with updating and maintaining HR documents.
  • Maintain a visible Human Resources presence, help assist employees with questions/concerns.
  • Help Payroll to ensure that FTE allocations are accurate and individual records are maintained.
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Coordinate Human Resource news to Communication department for monthly newsletter.
  • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records.
  • Assists in preparation for New Hire Orientation including assembling new hire binders.
  • Updates and maintains licensure/certification log and employee position control data
  • Partners with Education on the Healthstream system – inputting information as needed
  • Maintaining the birthday calendar monthly
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

 

      Recruitment

  • Posts job opportunities internally, posts external employment ads and web postings
  • Assists in process and review of applications
  • Handles all recruiting and new employees onboarding by performing background, reference, and health pre-employment screening requirements
  • Schedules and conducts new hire (pre-employment) appointments; schedules new hire drug screens; and assists new hires with employment documentation
  • Enters new hire information in ADP
