Description

This position completes a variety of tasks and assignments, both routine and non-routine, across a number of Human Resource related functions within the department. Typically, the incumbent is responsible to solve human resource related problems of a routine nature while efficiently coordinating work related to assigned areas of responsibility. The Human Resources Assistant role is responsible to mange the workflow, quality and timeliness of assigned work. This position is involved in coordinating and tracking of information related to assigned duties, as well as related projects. Incumbent will be required to demonstrate the ability to anticipate issues / problems associated with various programs, policies, agreements established by the Court, as well as provide recommendations for solutions and improvement. This position is responsible for day-to-day interaction with customers and may conduct training of others.

Examples of Duties

Provide staff support to the department, as well as management; performs a wide variety of HR related and administrative assignments as assigned, to include written reports and compilation of data from computerized HR systems or other sources.

Assist in benefit administration; to provide employees with information regarding the Court’s benefit programs; to maintain appropriate records and reports.

Assists professional staff with long-term human resource projects including those requiring classification, salary, and selection analysis, review of organizational policies, procedures, staffing, legislative analysis, and other human resource matters.

Coordinates benefits, employee and labor relations, human resources information systems, recruitment and assessment and/or training and development with all levels of court staff including but not limited to judges, commissioners, attorneys, managers and supervisors.

Provides liaison and staff support to a variety of committees, commissions, and working groups.

Uses personal computer and various applications to input, retrieve and manipulate data, prepare reports, slide presentations, memos and brochures.

Assists in gathering, tabulating, and analyzing data; drafts reports and survey instruments; answers correspondence.

Prepares and maintains routine Human Resources transactions.

Assists in administering discipline and grievance processes, and performance management programs.

Files and maintain employee record system.

Administers and assists with various benefits programs including worker’s compensation, health insurance and retirement plans.
