Position Purpose:

The HR Assistant Intern will support the Human Resources team in daily operations, administrative tasks, and special projects. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in HR processes, compliance, and office administration. The intern will gain exposure to various HR functions including training administration, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Project Administration:
    • Track and support Annual Evaluations process
    • Assist with Benefits Open Enrollment coordination and communications
  • HR Documentation & Compliance:
    • Prepare and distribute benefits betters
    • Maintain and update job descriptions
    • Update organization charts and branch list
    • Ensure compliance posters are current and properly displayed
    • Maintain I-9 documentation and ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Training Support:
    • Update employee records in Talent LMS
    • Schedule and coordinate New Hire Orientation
    • Track and follow up on training courses and events

 

Secondary Functions:

  • Office Administration:
  • Distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain break room supplies, order lunch for meetings, and manage cube labels
  • Track and manage prizes inventory and distribution
  • General HR Support:
  • Assist with employee communications and engagement initiatives
  • Provide administrative support for HR 
  • Help maintain organized digital and physical HR files
  • Back up other members of the department
  • Special projects as assigned

 

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) 
  • Detail-oriented with ability to handle confidential information 
  • Interest in learning HR processes and systems
