Human Resources Assistant & Substitute Teacher Supervisor/Sub Caller

Legacy Christian Academy is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and people-focused individual to serve in a combined role as a Human Resources Assistant & Substitute Teacher Supervisor/Sub Caller. This position plays a vital role in supporting daily school operations by hiring and supervising the sub teachers, coordinating substitute coverage, and assisting the Human Resources department with recruiting, onboarding, HRIS and administrative functions.
This is a 10 month school year role with some occasional responsibilities in June and July.
The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, confidential, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities with excellent follow-through and communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Human Resources & Recruiting Support
- Assist with recruiting efforts and candidate communication
- Post job openings on various hiring platforms and school employment website
- Manage the hiring and re-hiring process of seasonal coaches working closely with the Athletic Director
- Manage the hiring and re-hiring process of substitute teachers
- Schedule interviews and coordinate calendars for hiring teams
- Prepare interview packets/files for interviewers
- Conduct reference checks and background checks for all colleagues and volunteers
- Maintain employee files and HR records with confidentiality and accuracy
- Filing of HR documentation and maintain organized records
- Assist with general HR administrative duties and special projects
Human Resources Administrative Support
- Support office operations with strong organization and follow-through
- Maintain and update data in Paylocity the HRIS System
- Run reports in the HRIS system
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Assist in benefit billing reconciliation
- Assist in HR compliance work
- Complete employment verifications
- May assist in the processing of leave of absence paperwork
- Work proactively according to the school’s cyclical calendar and operational deadlines
Substitute Teacher Coordination & Supervision
- Coordinate daily substitute teacher coverage for teacher absences
- Contact and schedule substitute teachers in a timely manner
- Recruit, interview and hire sub teachers
- Provide day to day supervision of subs
- Maintain substitute teacher lists, availability, and records
- Communicate substitute assignments and expectations clearly
- Assist with substitute onboarding and training processes
- Monitor substitute staffing needs and proactively recruit additional substitute teachers
- Ensure smooth daily classroom coverage and communicate staffing updates to school leadership
- Build positive relationships with substitute staff and school personnel
- May fill in as a sub teacher from time to time on an as needed basis
Qualifications

- Education: 2 or 4 year degree preferred in a business related field.
- Experience in administrative support, HR, recruiting, or school operations required
- Experience in hiring and recruiting is desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace
- HRIS systems experience preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity HRIS is a plus.

Schedule
- Part-time, 10 month position
- Hours 17-20 hours a week. Hours may vary based on substitute staffing needs and school operations. (Approximate hours 7-10 hours a week Sub Supervisor and Caller and 10 hours a week HR Assistant work).
