HR Coordinator
Position Summary
The HR Coordinator will support the daily operations of the Human Resources department, with a primary focus on onboarding, recruitment administration, employee file management and union-related reporting and requests. This role is responsible for coordinating hiring processes, maintaining accurate HR records, and assisting with various HR projects and administrative functions to ensure compliance and organizational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage onboarding processes for all new hires.
- Create and manage job requisitions for open positions.
- Update and maintain internal and external job postings.
- Coordinate interview scheduling and hiring documentation.
- Finalize hiring processes, including preparing offer packets and onboarding materials.
- Conduct onboarding functions and orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
- Maintain employee records and ensure all personnel files are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Assist with all union-related reports, requests, correspondence, and documentation.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit required union reports accurately and within deadlines.
- Administer proper use of time clock by all employees, providing them with required code to use the system.
- Assist with employee health insurance sign up and questions.
- Assist with HR projects, including employee file audits and document reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the HR department as needed.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related work experience accepted.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of HR administrative experience preferred.
- Experience working in a union environment is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ADP Workforcenow experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bi-lingual experience in Spanish is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
- Must be able to work seated for at least 8 hours daily
- Must be able to reach items at varying height levels (on shelves, below desk, file cabinets, etc.)
- Must be able to work in front of a computer screen for long period of time.
- Receive and handle items (including delivery of currency and coins) weighing up to 30lbs.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment and may require occasional interaction with employees and management.
