Summary/Objective

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for aiding and facilitating day-to-day human resource operations.

Essential Functions

  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
  • Answers HR-related queries and requests
  • Documents employee relations issues accurately and confidentially
  • Assists with drafting and distributing company communications, surveys, and memos
  • Assists with planning and executing employee recognition programs and appreciation initiatives
  • Monitors employee engagement data and suggests opportunities to improve morale and retention
  • Provides clerical and operational support to other human resources staff
  • Assists recruiting efforts, as needed
  • Supports onboarding/offboarding tasks in HRIS, as needed
  • Assists with additional HR projects, as needed

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment                                                                                                          

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands                                                                                                                     

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly sits for long periods of time at a desk in front of a computer screen. The employee may occasionally be required to lift, push, pull or carry objects; typically, when filing is needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time non-exempt position.

Travel

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years’ experience in HR or a related role

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software
  • Viewpoint or Vista software experience is a bonus
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment.
