The Human Resources Coordinator will provide administrative support across the territory. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and excels at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the coordination of recruitment activities, including drafting job postings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by preparing documentation, coordinating and facilitating new hire orientations, and ensuring timely completion of all related tasks.
  • Maintain and update employee records, files, and HRIS systems with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support for talent acquisition, benefits enrollment, performance review tracking, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Respond to employee inquiries, resolve basic HR issues, and escalate complex matters to senior HR staff as needed.
  • Prepare internal communications, reports, memos, and other HR-related documents as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist in coordinating training programs, employee events, and recognition initiatives.
  • Track and maintain calendars, deadlines, and deliverables for multiple HR programs and projects.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines while adapting to changing priorities and working under pressure.
  • Assist with audits (internal or external) by organizing and providing required HR documents.
  • Generate regular HR reports (turnover, headcount, time-to-hire, training hours, etc.).
  • Assist with investigations as directed.
  • Help administer paid time off (PTO), sick leave, and holiday schedules.
  • Track mandatory training completion and re-certifications.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOPs for HR procedures to ensure consistency.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is highly preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role; prior experience in the construction industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with proven attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Positive, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset with a strong self-starting work ethic.
  • Willingness and ability to travel inter-island based on business needs.

 

Additional Information:

 

  • This is an in-office position located in St. Thomas with frequent overnight/weeklong travel to St. Croix, as needed.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish/Creole, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages preferred.
