Sonwil, an industry leader in Distribution, Logistics and Transportation is seeking an HR Coordinator. This individual is responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department and assisting with various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, leaves and records management. This role is an on-site position that helps maintain organized HR processes and supports a positive employee experience.


Responsibilities

Recruitment:

  • Actively utilizes social media and other platforms to post jobs and source candidates.
  • Assists with the candidate selection process. Schedules and/or conducts interviews. 
  • Extends job offers to qualified candidates. Coordinates pre-employment screenings.


Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Completes new employee onboarding activities, including orientation, paperwork completion and benefit programs review.
  • Facilitates the offboarding process by updating employee records. Ensures the return of company property and the completion of exit interviews.


Administrative and Compliance:

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely data entry of employee information and ongoing maintenance in HRIS.
  • Maintains up-to-date employee records, documentation and files, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations (e.g., I-9 forms).


Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serves as a point of contact for employees to address HR-related questions and concerns. Provides accurate communications to employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists in resolving employee issues and escalates matters to senior HR staff as needed. Utilizes a customer service mindset to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Participates in various programs aimed at improving employee engagement and community involvement (e.g., wellness, volunteer committee).


Training and Development:

  • Helps coordinate employee training and development programs. Assists in tracking and recording employee training completion.
  • Assists with the Annual Performance Review process.


Leaves:

  • Assists with the administration of employee leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws.


Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ADP.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Problem-solving skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
  • Valid license and ability to travel locally as needed.


Education/Experience

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of Human Resources or similar experience preferred.
  • Experience with recruitment required.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (on-site position).
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
