Reports to: HR Manager Direct Reports: 2 Recruiters

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior HR Generalist to lead our recruiting function, serve as a strategic partner across the organization, and provide critical support to our payroll operations. This is a high-impact, multi-functional leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is ready to manage a team while staying hands-on across HR, recruiting, and payroll. You'll oversee two recruiters, own client-facing communication on hiring needs, manage our HRIS and project management systems, and serve as the trained backup for payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting Leadership (Primary Function)

  • Oversee two recruiters as direct reports, providing daily guidance, coaching, and performance management
  • Act as the department lead on all recruiting matters: strategy, process, workflow, and team priorities
  • Coordinate directly with Operations and Administration leadership to assess hiring needs for security officers and administrative personnel
  • Serve as the lead point of contact with clients regarding staffing requirements; attend client meetings to discuss hiring pipelines, timelines, and workforce planning
  • Drive full-cycle recruiting standards across the team: job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers, and onboarding handoff
  • Build and maintain a candidate pipeline for high-volume and recurring roles
  • Report on recruiting metrics: time-to-fill, source effectiveness, cost-per-hire, and team productivity
  • Ensure a strong candidate experience across all touchpoints

HRIS & Systems Management

  • Manage the HRIS system: data integrity, user access, reporting, and process improvements
  • Own and maintain the Monday.com board for HR and recruiting workflows, ensuring visibility and accountability across the team
  • Generate reports and dashboards for HR Manager and leadership as needed

HR Generalist Duties

  • Respond to all candidates and new hires regarding offers, onboarding logistics, and pre-employment questions
  • Respond to employee questions on policies, benefits, time off, and general HR matters
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding in coordination with the HR team
  • Maintain employee records in HRIS, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with employee relations matters, escalating complex issues to the HR Manager
  • Support compliance efforts including I-9 audits, EEO reporting, and federal/state law adherence

Payroll Backup & Support

  • Serve as trained backup to the Payroll Specialist, processing payroll in Paycom during absences or peak periods
  • Assist with payroll-related data entry, time and attendance review, and pay adjustments
  • Support payroll reconciliation, tax filings, and year-end activities (W-2s, 1095, ACA reporting)
  • Maintain working proficiency in Paycom to ensure seamless coverage when needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field — OR equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in full-cycle recruiting
  • 1+ year of direct people management experience (managing recruiters or HR staff strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and ATS systems
  • Proficiency with Monday.com or comparable project management tools
  • Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law
  • Comfort with payroll concepts and willingness to be cross-trained on Paycom payroll processing
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and professional presence in meetings
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead a team, and maintain confidentiality
  • Available to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Pacific Time, from a home office in Texas

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification
  • Prior experience with Paycom payroll processing
  • Experience recruiting for security, administrative, or high-volume operational roles
  • Experience supporting a fully remote or distributed workforce
  • Experience managing client relationships in a staffing, services, or contract workforce environment
